Tony Martinez, President and owner of Silver Horn Media, LLC, is a distinguished award-winning documentary filmmaker, television news coach and consultant who works with KSC on media training and presentation coaching.
Martinez is a noted, bilingual performance and storytelling coach. In his role as coach and mentor, he trains executives, athletes and television journalists in on-air performance and presentation skills.
His corporate clients for media training include Baylor Scott & White Health, American Heart Association and Capital One Bank.
He is the coach of record for NBC/Telemundo owned and operated stations in the U.S. Since 2008, he has been a featured coach at CNN’s prestigious International Journalism Fellowship, where he mentors international broadcast journalists. In addition to his work at CNN, his clients include ESPN, TVA (French language network in Montreal) and several network affiliate stations.
Martinez received a George Foster Peabody award and three national Emmys as director/producer on ESPN’s acclaimed SportsCentury series. He wrote and produced over a dozen documentaries for the nationally acclaimed series, including profiles of Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Ben Hogan, Wilma Rudolph, Carl Lewis and the Peabody award-winning episode on Jim Thorpe.
In 2012 Mr. Martinez created a documentary series, “Dallas Hope,” featuring three cancer patients at Baylor Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas. The 90-minute documentary aired in prime time on WFAA-TV (ABC Dallas).
Martinez formed Silver Horn Entertainment in 2003. He produces content for network and corporate clients. Current clients include Baylor Scott & White Health, The Dallas Cowboys, Hearst Broadcasting, CBS Sports Network, MLB Network, and The Weather Channel.
Martinez began his career as an on-air sportscaster in Phoenix and went on to successful on-air careers in Dallas, Denver and Washington, D.C., anchoring sports on both a local level as well as fill-in duties at ABC News.
Martinez is the winner of two regional Edward R. Murrow awards, a dozen Katy Awards and several Heartland Emmys for sports anchoring and producing.
