Elton Gumbel

Media Training and Presentation Coach

Elton Gumbel is a former television sports anchor who currently works in a number of capacities for Greatness Inc. and 180 Communications – and frequently lends his media expertise, presentation skills and coaching ability to Kevin Sullivan Communications, Inc. His journey with KSC includes training sessions with the Indiana Pacers, Buffalo Bills, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia Phillies, Supercross, Monster Jam, Major League Baseball umpires, Ohio State University, and even the cast and crew of the Jurassic World Live Tour. At Greatness Inc., Gumbel serves as a correspondent reporter, writer, multimedia director, webinar host, video editor, graphic designer, and vice president of content for 11-time New York Times best-selling author and keynote speaker Don Yaeger. At 180 Communications, Gumbel serves as a media training coach and director of partnerships.

Gumbel’s broadcast background includes serving as host of a weekly TV show with Florida A&M University's head football coach. Elton also voices sports radio updates as Sports Director for Magic Broadcasting's WVFT Freedom 93.3fm. He has also expanded his skill set to include opportunities as spokesperson and script writer on TV advertisements for Direct Auto Exchange—a Florida-based car dealership. He's also occasionally been called upon to host an online video segment referred to as The TCC Report, highlighting various projects and accomplishments at Tallahassee Community College. Gumbel’s TV career really took flight in 2005 when he became Tallahassee's 1st African American sports anchor. He anchored the 5 p.m. sportscasts for WCTV (CBS) in Tallahassee and by 2008 had assumed the role of primary sports anchor, anchoring six shows per day for the CBS & Fox affiliates. Prior to WCTV, Gumbel worked in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, as a freelance videographer/ reporter for Time Warner Cable's Metro Sports channel. Gumbel is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University and currently resides in Tallahassee with his wife Adria, son Elton IV, and daughter Peyton. Their church home is Restoration Place Tallahassee. He is a cousin of television broadcasting icons Bryant Gumbel and Greg Gumbel.
