Amy Zelvin Reid
Amy Zelvin Reid is a veteran strategic communications consultant with more than 20 years of experience working with media, film, digital, nonprofit and corporate clients. She partners with KSC on media training and communications and message strategy projects.
Before starting her consultancy business in October 2015, Zelvin Reid was the Vice President of Public Relations for CNBC, the global leader in business news. There, she set and implemented the communications strategy for CNBC Digital, its numerous editorial initiatives and partnerships as well as the organization’s wide variety of free and subscription products including CNBC.com and CNBC PRO. Her efforts led to an increase in both measurable traffic and brand awareness for CNBC Digital, achieved through a wide variety of national and local media placements as well as the establishment of a presence for CNBC Digital executives at key industry events.
Zelvin Reid was also responsible for managing all aspects of both the external and internal communications for CNBC’s partnerships and acquisitions including the announcement of CNBC’s strategic alliance with Yahoo! Finance, CNBC’s acquisition of Public Television’s Nightly Business Report and NBCUniversal News Group’s investment in Kensho.
Previously, Zelvin Reid was the Senior Vice President of Communications for NBCUniversal Digital Media from 2005-2009. In this role, Zelvin Reid oversaw the implementation of an external communications plan that significantly increased awareness of NBCUniversal's Digital Media strategy and its respective leadership team. She also led the communications efforts for NBCU’s acquisition of iVillage and was part of the team that handled the announcement of Hulu, NBCUniversal's online video joint venture with News Corporation.
Zelvin Reid joined NBCUniversal in 2000 with her first tour of duty at CNBC. Two years after her initial appointment as a Senior Manager, she was elevated to the role of Vice President of Public Relations. In this capacity, Zelvin Reid developed and managed the press strategy for all of the network’s programming and talent, including developing the launch strategy for Mad Money w/Jim Cramer.
Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Zelvin Reid served as a Vice President on the Corporate Technology and Public Affairs team at Ruder-Finn (1999-2000) and as a Communications Manager at BusinessWeek (1998-99).
Zelvin Reid began her professional career in the publishing industry, working at The Crown Publishing Group (1994-98), The William Pell Literary Agency (1993-94) and New York Family Publications (1992-93).
Zelvin Reid graduated from Boston University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting and Film.
